Founded in 1978, IN THE PINES, INC. is a non-profit organization that provides safe, clean and affordable housing for low-income farm workers as well as social services and support programs to enhance the quality of life of area farm workers. The Junior League of Boca Raton has worked with IN THE PINES for almost 20 years assisting with educational and recreational activities. The JLBR also provides bi-lingual literacy trainings and adult literacy classes that include information on immigration issues and scholarship needs. 2005 Community Impact Award from Association of Junior Leagues International
Florence Fuller Child Development Centers
Serving economically disadvantaged families, the Florence Fuller Child Development Center provides inclusive quality childcare and family support services. The Junior League of Boca Raton has built a playground for the backyard of the nursery and provides funding and volunteer support to Florence Fuller’s West Campus Infant Nursery for much needed renovation and repairs. We also are providing educational services for the children including a comprehensive literacy program.
Spirit of Giving (SOG)
Serving as the liaison between the Junior League of Boca Raton and dozens of local charities participating in the Spirit of Giving program, the SOG Committee helps coordinate the annual SOG toy drive and facilitates other giving opportunities for the League and community.
Kids in the Kitchen
Supported by The Association of Junior Leagues International Inc., the Kids in the Kitchen initiative empowers youth to make healthy lifestyle choices and help reverse the rise of childhood obesity and its associated health issues. Not only in our community projects, but also within our own homes and neighborhoods, the JLBR strives to empower today’s youth to make choices that help them lead healthy lives.
Boca Helping Hands
Boca Helping hands provides food and assistance programs for families to break the cycle of dependence. The Junior League is assisting Boca Helping Hands to launch the Self-Help and Resource Exchange (SHARE) Program offering reduced-cost food to families. This will assist families struggling to reach self-sustainability by stretching the dollar further. The JLBR is also providing continuing education for parents and teens in Boca Helping Hands by hosting life skills seminars, coordinating job fairs and providing fun and educational events for children of families involved in the program.
City of Boca Raton Community Garden
The Junior League is the primary community partner for the coordination, organization and development of a community garden in Boca Raton. This garden will help provide environmental sustainability, recognize the importance of the environment, a sense of community and self-sufficiency. The JLBR is creating by-laws and identifying other community partners to help plan, fund and build the garden.
Small Community Projects
The Junior League of Boca Raton provides financial and volunteer support to local non-profit organizations for short-term projects or events. JLBR identifies strategic projects to implement a program, coordinate a one day event, or assist with marketing material and development.
Vegso Community Resource Center (VCRC)
2007 Vision Award from Association of Junior Leagues International
Since January 2004, the VCRC has satisfied a need to have a single, centralized resource center to serve all South Palm Beach County and North Broward County nonprofit organizations enabling them to research funding opportunities without losing valuable staff time for travel. Open to the public, the VCRC Library houses print and media materials for non-profit use that cover a range of topics including: leadership development, management, organizational development and grant writing support. The VCRC is also home to the Foundation Center's Cooperative Collection that offers free access to reputable information, as well as expertise in researching funding opportunities. Training sessions on the proper usage of the library materials is offered on a regular basis. Additional training on various topics are offered either at no cost or at a nominal fee, with scholarship opportunities available. The building is also the headquarters for the Junior League of Boca Raton.

Done in a Day (DIAD)
The Junior League of Boca Raton provides significant volunteer support to local non-profit organizations for short-term projects or events referred to as DIAD community service projects. More than 300 JLBR members participate in DIAD events that range from working with children during arts and crafts projects, to helping build Habitat for Humanity homes. Over the last two years, volunteer hours accumulated through DIAD events have totaled nearly 4000 hours in community support.
Public Issues & Advocacy (PIA)
PIA is an issue-oriented committee that advocates for community needs, League interests and State Pubic Affairs Committee (SPAC) focus areas. The committee improves the ability of the JLBR to oversee attention to and involvement in our League's focus areas. Additionally, this committee pursues ideas for future project development initiatives and works with Project Development to review and evaluate opportunities.
Community Support Fund (CSF)
The Community Support Fund is the granting arm of the Junior League of Boca Raton that allows community organizations within the League's service area to apply for grants up to $2,500 to assist in funding programs and initiatives. A Community Support Fund application must be submitted in order to apply for a JLBR grant.
