It is my pleasure to Chair this year’s Woman Volunteer of the Year committee. On behalf
of the Junior League of Boca Raton we expect to honor more than thirty nominees and
over 900 guests at this year’s luncheon on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Boca Raton
Resort & Club. The day begins at 10:30 a.m. with a reception, 11:30 a.m. is the luncheon
and 1:45 p.m. is the after-party. In a celebration of volunteerism, this event is a tribute to the
nominees put forth by many amazing organizations throughout our community. Please join us!
The Junior League of Boca Raton (JLBR) would like to ask for your support of the 23rd Annual
Woman Volunteer of the Year Award Luncheon & Fashion Show, benefiting our community
projects and developing the potential of women. Volunteers are the backbone of what makes
great things happen – new facilities for children, food for the hungry, innovative new medical
technology, education, safety, foster programs, and much more. As you may know, the proceeds
of the Luncheon allow the Junior League of Boca Raton to answer the call for help from
organizations in need. It is our single largest fundraiser and its success helps to shape the face
of our community. The excitement and reach of this event recognizes, in a significant way, the
strong relationships we share with our corporate and philanthropic partners.
The Junior League of Boca Raton is proud to have partnered with the Boca Raton Community Hospital Foundation for the second consecutive year as the Presenting Sponsor of the Junior League of Boca Raton’s “Woman Volunteer of the Year Award”! Boca Raton Community Hospital has a long standing tradition of being the central address for women’s health care in our community. From Toppel Family Place, where many of our Boca babies have been delivered, including mine, to their Women’s Center which has been named one of the best centers in the nation…caring for women is at the core of their mission.
We are also pleased to announce that our long-standing partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue will
continue as our Luncheon Fashion Show sponsor. I am very excited to announce that Mercedes
Benz has come on board as a new partner to the Junior League of Boca Raton, as our Valet
sponsor. The Boca Raton Magazine is our Magazine sponsor and they have increased their social
media commitment to the Junior League this year to help promote this main event, plus Casino Royal our pre-event on August 26, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz of Delray. Our pre-event is new
this year and seeks to promote each of the nominees and their respective organizations through
Boca Festival Days, which has been organized and promoted by the Boca Raton Chamber of
Commerce. We are truly proud to partner with each of these amazing sponsors who, like the
Junior League, are committed to building better communities.
