The JLBR's James Beard Award winning cookbook, Savor the Moment, celebrates its 11th year with over 50,000 copies in circulation. With stunning, four-color photography throughout, Savor the Moment highlights over 300 quick-and-easy selections, as well as gourmet creations. It also offers readers extraordinary entertaining ideas to make every day special or events exceptional. Beyond just your everyday Cookbook, Savor the Moment features 10 celebrations showcasing complete menus with unique "how to" ideas and creative cooking and entertaining tips—from great grilling advice to how to make a blossoming ice ring to how to have fun with your antiques.

All proceeds from the Savor the Moment cookbook benefit local community programs. This cookbook has allowed the JLBR to do great works such as:

• Help migrant farm workers receive low-cost quality housing and community services. These services include a Child Development Center, which provides after-school care and tutoring.
• Consistently increase support to underprivileged and at-risk children in the form of ongoing, after-school and summer educational, cultural and life-enhancing programs.
• Build a community garden that provides a healthy supplemental food source to its gardeners and the local food banks while cultivating the spirit of community.
• Start a necessary diaper bank that distributes diapers of all sizes to local families in need.
